Stan puts first original series into production with Jungleboys comedy series No Activity

Stan Streaming service Stan has started production on its first original series, partnering with production house Jungleboys to produce comedy series No Activity.

The improvised comedy  series follows two detectives on a stakeout and has been developed by Jungleboys’ Trent O’Donnell, who is currently executive producer and director on US series New Girl, along with Patrick Brammall, Darren Gilshenan and David Field.

Stan, a joint venture between Nine Entertainment Co and Fairfax Media, is following the path of US streaming giant Netflix in creating original content specifically for its platform in a bid to make the service more attractive to subscribers.

JungleboysJungleboys managing director Jason Burrows said in a statement: “No Activity is a show we’ve been thinking about for a while. With Stan we’ve found a partner who shares our vision and has given us the freedom to make something we are passionate about. It’s exciting to be making a series outside the constraints of scheduled TV, allowing us to push the boundaries.”
