Star Wars maintains box office top spot leaving new Will Ferrell comedy distant second

Three weeks after its release Star Wars: The Force Awakens has taken almost $70m at the box office, recording total sales of $69.949m as of last weekend.

Star Wars remains well ahead of any other film currently screening in cinemas, taking $9m this week from the 741 screens showing the film nationally.

Think you’ve got the wrong info. Point Break released this week ($1.9M) and so did Peanuts ($1.2M).
