Steinlager mocks New Zealand’s claims to fame
A new ad for Steinlager has been released that mocks New Zealand’s claims to fame.
“Maybe when things are this good, we can just enjoy them,” concludes the narrator.
The agency behind the ad was DDB New Zealand. It was directed by Taika Waititi.
I don’t get it.
“Mocks NZ’s claims to fame?”
Not really.
It’s in reference to the previous Steinlager advertising, the NZ Pure advertising, and the cliches of well, a lot of NZ ads.
Oh Boy! that is f-ing brilliant “up it’s own-bottiness” of pure genius.
Irresponsible reporting. Check your facts before you write whatever comes into your little brain
Brilliant ad. Is that Jan Terri lurking in the background?
Taika doesn’t seem to work regularly but when he does he always makes me laugh!
I wanted to not like it. but the scene at the bar won me over. Nice work!
Interesting piece of Advertising.
With so much going on though in the Advert, it seems to me like the end message may have been lost.
However, the main idea remains consistent throughout the advert to me:
Forget about what NZ has been ‘perceived’ to be famous for, and just enjoy something as simple as a Steinlager.
The beauty of things like this is that everybody will view it differently.
Cheers,
Daniel-Jacob
