Ten tops Nine for audience share as Masterchef and Offspring surge on lacklustre night

masterchef logoChannel Ten beat Channel Nine for audience share in spite of a drop off for new gameshow Family Feud, with Masterchef and Offspring leading the charge last night in the absence of any blockbuster programming from its rivals.

Ten’s reality cooking show came in second for the night with an audience of 1.21m after pulling in 971,000 last Wednesday, and Offspring recorded an audience of 981,000 up from 741,000 according to the OzTam Overnight Ratings.

Meanwhile Ten’s new game show Family Feud, which is being shown across Ten, Eleven and One as a simulcast, recorded a drop off on previous nights with the show posting an audience 657,000, down from 719,000 on Tuesday and 690,000 on Monday.

The decline in audience for Family Feud did not impact Ten’s audience share which was 18.2 per cent on its main channel, well up on last week’s performance of 13.9 per cent when it had to face-off against the dominating State of Origin on Nine. Nine managed 16.2 per cent overall.
