Suncorp confirms review of media account

OMD took a step back from pitching following its win of the Suncorp account
Suncorp has confirmed it is reviewing its media planning and buying account after it announced it would be implementing a new consolidation strategy.
Since then, a spokesperson from Suncorp, said in a statement: “I can confirm we are reviewing our media arrangements. The Media RFP [request for proposals] tender process is still in process, which means this is commercial in confidence and we cannot disclose the details. We won’t be in a position to share an update until later in the year.”
The review of its media account, which is currently held by Starcom, comes as the brand announced it would be reviewing its roster of agencies and no longer be working with its incumbent creative agency DDB Melbourne.
Just last year Publicis created a bespoke model to service the Suncorp account and reposition the group’s brand.
Then in April, Publicis launched Suncorp’s new brand platform ‘Money with Sunny’ which features a young girl, Sunny, as the face of the brand.
The new consolidation strategy and roster shake up comes five months after Mim Haysom joined Suncorp as its executive general manager of brand and marketing.
Before joining Suncorp, Haysom was the general manager at M&C Saatchi.
Wow, that could make or break an agencies year!
“Before joining Suncorp, Haysom was the general manager at M&C Saatchi.”
Say no more….

The Sunny Campaign was the best campaign in a long time for Suncorp
I heard their strategy at a senior level (a.k.a ‘The Girl’s Club’) is all over the place. A new media agency won’t solve those problems.
Quick let’s distract from our incompetence by changing agencies! #girlsclub
