Sunrise’s mystery addition is Grant Denyer

Seven’s Sunrise relaunch will keep it in the family with the return of Grant Denyer to the weather slot after nearly four years.

On Friday executive producer Adam Boland told Mumbrella that as well as the updated presenter lineup and new set, the show would have a change of pace – newsier at the beginning, with a 40+ female audience beign targeted in the final half hour.

Sunrise have just lost me with their new look. Breakfast should be a casual, easy going, relaxed approach. With Kochi all suited up its just a copy of Channel 9 and too formal for breakfast. Go back to the casual look, it’s just not breakfast anymore.

No surprise seeing Mr Denyer back on the show – he was part of a winning team 4 years ago and maybe they need him to pick them back up again. He obviously rates well – replacing FiFi who was wonderful on radio but lacked the pizazz on TV. Maybe she’ll be better in an entertainment role…. Sunrise, please don’t be more like the today show – I love the banter of 3 professionals having fun! Continue to be real – truthful, authentic (however banal and kitchie that may be)…
