Survey: Self satisfaction is the main reason to blog

Money making is a low priority for most bloggers, according to a new survey carried out in Australia by blogging platform Nuffnang.

The survey of Australia’s blog community – which attracted 594 respondents, mainly from those already part of Nuff Nang’s Australian network – asked the reason why people continue to blog.

Just 1% said it was because of the revenue they had earned, while only another 5% said it was because of the revenue they hoped to earn.

The largest number – 49% – said they did it for “self satisfaction”. A further 17% said that their motivation was to make a name for themselves, while 11% said it was thanks to reader feedback.
