Sydney Opera House reveals major digital push
Sydney Opera House has revealed a series of deals and alliances designed to help it reach bigger digital and TV audiences. It includes a comprehensive video offering developed with Viocorp, a website revamp from Tequila TBWA and broadcast deals with the ABC and pay TV arts channel Studio.
The announcement:
A vision to take digital content beyond the confines of Bennelong Point is the driving force behind a range of technology initiatives at Sydney Opera House aimed to transform the way in which audiences can interact and engage with the global icon.
Informing the digital strategy are three key objectives – increasing reach and access to performing arts, artists and the House itself; encouraging community participation and engagement; and creating new models for the development and distribution of Sydney Opera House experiences through digital channels.
Having worked for both Australian & Stateside digital consultancies, I know good technical implementations aren’t an Aussie strongpoint. But neither is it so weak that SOH had to go to SF to engage POP interactive!
