Transport Accident Commission Victoria(TAC) has launched its Christmas campaign, with an installation commemorating the lives lost on the roads this year at Melbourne’s State Library, in one of the final campaigns for the them by Grey Melbourne.

The installation visually conveys the heartache of facing Christmas following the loss of a loved one on the roads via 209 whitewashed ungiven gifts, symbolising the number of lives lost on Vic roads this year.

Vic assistant treasurer Gordon Rich-Phillips said in a statement: “The sad reality is that many gifts will go ungiven this year. Behind each of these gifts is a heartbreaking story of a life lost and of loved ones for whom Christmas will never be the same.”
