Ten to bring back The Amazing Race Australia, hosted by Beau Ryan

After much speculation, Ten has finally named the last franchise it will be adding to its 2019 slate. The Amazing Race Australia will return to screens after a five-year break, hosted by Beau Ryan.

Earlier this year at their mid-year upfronts, Ten’s chief content officer Beverley McGarvey revealed that there would be one more franchise added to the slate for 2019, but that contract negotiations had slowed the announcement process.

The Amazing Race Australia was last on screens in 2014, when it wrapped after three seasons on Seven. The premiere drew 588,000 viewers while the final episode brought in 416,000. Before that, when season one kicked off in 2011, the premiere drew 1.28m. There was a gap between season two and season three, with the casting beginning in 2012 but the season not airing till 2014.
