Ten wins just 6.8 per cent audience share as MKR smashes 2m mark
Channel Ten’s audience share remained low last night at just 6.8 per cent as Seven’s My Kitchen Rules broke the 2m mark and Nine’s second outing of its drama series Love Child rated 1.255m, according to preliminary overnight metro ratings from OzTam.
Ten’s two new episodes of Modern Family failed to make the top 20 programs of the night in the 7.30pm timeslot, with 409 ,000 and 400,000 metro viewers as My Kitchen Rules won 2.124m and The Block averaged 1.079m for Channel Nine.
The only show to make the top 20 in total people for Ten was its Eyewitness News at 5pm. On Sunday Ten managed just 6.4 per cent for its primary channel, its lowest share since the OzTam system was introduced in 2001.
Love Child fell slightly on its TV premiere of 1.35m last week, however the first episode of the show was the most timeshifted last week gaining a total audience of 1.587m in the last seven days.
I think this clearly demonstrates that buying the Winter Olympics was not such a great move !
Why use the Winter’s to launch anything…wrong
The problem is they don’t have much to launch. Secrets and Lies looks interesting but it will get absolutely crushed by the competition. Otherwise there’s not much hope on the horizon. They have Offspring and Puberty Blues to come. What else?
Dads new show will of course mark the turning point. Mum’s super pumped about it.
Look out for it. Those pinko commies from insiders are going to get smashed. We are going to have a PROPER media watch segment and everything!
What Chanel 10 lose in total viewers they will gain back on Sunday mornings. WIth Dad’s super awesome new audience. Screw the younger demo.
Dads audience will be old, angry white men who aren’t capable of critical thought or analysis. Think of that shouty Uncle with the racist views that you allow limited alcohol too at Christmas. With a skew towards a D demo.
Sounds like a dream market for advertisers…..
OMG…Just what are TEN going to do?
At this rate Andrew Bolt’s new 1 hr show on Sunday will be in Ten’s top 10 programmes
I’m actually surprised TEN received a 6.8% share, what a great result for them considering their programming.
I bet that 2SM’s owner, Bill Caralis, will soon buy Channel 10 from Murdoch and pull the station out of the ratings.
I wish my last name was Murdoch.
There is apparently no level of failure at which someone with that last name can get sacked.
And I thought Lachlan proudly boasted 10 would get to 30% market share within a year – 2 years ago..??
