The free ticket you just got offered to Mumbrella360 is not legitimate

The media and marketing industry is being peppered by an email phishing scam that purports to offer a free ticket to the Mumbrella360 conference in May.

Mumbrella has been contacted by numerous people asking if the email offer, with subject heading “Your Complimentary Mumbrella360 Ticket”, is legitimate. It is not. Do not click on the link. Report the email as spam, block the sender and delete the email.

The sender in the emails we have seen displays as “The Mumbrella Team <messaging-service@post.xero.com>”.

The email body will look similar to the below.

Mumbrella has reported the attempted fraud to the ACCC’s ScamWatch service. We regret that our readers and attendees have been the target of this scam.

We also understand the temptation to click that link. Mumbrella360 promises to be a truly remarkable feast of ideas, with Thomas Barta, Mark Ritson, and Roblox’s Muro Tuohy among the global guests. We also have all the Australian holdco bosses on stage at the same time on Day 2. Have a look at our announced sessions so far, and consider buying a ticket if you haven’t already.
