The Man from U.N.C.L.E pulls $1.6m on opening weekend but can’t unseat Trainwreck

The film reboot of classic 60s TV series The Man from U.N.C.L.E. took a respectable $1.6m last weekend, but could not topple the latest Mission Impossible film or Trainwreck at the top of the weekend box office.

The Guy Richie directed action comedy spy film was screened on 289 screens and came in just behind Mission Impossible which grossed $1.7m last week, despite being on at 405 locations – with takings just over $12m in its first three weeks.

Neither filmed grossed as much as Amy Schumer’s Trainwreck which continues to perform strongly pulling in $2.1m last week on 390 screens, with total takings of $9.4m.
