The Voice drops on its return while 1.073m watch Belle Gibson’s 60 Minutes interview
The return of Nine’s singing contest The Voice last night averaged 1.557m metro viewers, with 1.073m tuning in for 60 Minutes’s confrontational interview with disgraced wellness blogger Belle Gibson afterwards.
The opening of the fourth season of The Voice was down on the series launch in May last year when it won 2.155m metro viewers, and had it lowest launch to date. However, it was also in a more competitive schedule, up against both Ten’s Masterchef and Seven’s House Rules.
Last year’s The Voice finale saw 1.6m metropolitan viewers tune in to see Anja Nissen take out the singing competition.
Apart from the first series have never watched the Voice. all these reality shows are so boring after a while. novelty value has ran out. Masterchef has the same invention text. pressure test, you think they wont make it but end up making it etc
What kills the Voice for me is the number of ad breaks. Too numerous and long compared with Masterchef. It’s overkill and makes the Voice unbearable to watch.
