When actually faced with a really large and possibly high-profile new client opportunity, it can be hard to be objective about how well they match your business or your strategy. After all, who would turn away a huge wad of cash just because it doesn’t fit perfectly in their pocket?
And in utopia the streets are paved with gold and the trees made of chocolate.
Nice article. I get what you’re saying and I agree with most of it. However, retainer based models seem good in principle but the big project work is what people generally want to work on. They want to say “Hey, I worked on the project that launched x”. I mean, what’s exciting about saying that you work on x client’s retainer?
