Travis Head’s Test big bash pulls record TV crowds, but comes at a cost for Seven and Kayo
Good exposure: Westpac was unmissable even as Travis Head put an early end to the First Test (Foxtel)
Just last week Seven’s network director of sport Chris Jones told Mumbrella the broadcaster wanted to see The Ashes Test matches run for five days more than anyone in Australia except for Cricket Australia.
It was a wish subscription TV rights holder Foxtel Group also shared.
But it wasn’t to be. Viewers saw plenty of Ashes action in just two days, but their screens are showing something else on the remaining three scheduled days of the First Test.

There were plenty of puns linked to match-winner Travis Head on Sunday — this one stood out (an even more doubtful earlier front page was changed)
