Scott Morrison’s budget speech watched by 695,000 as Nine’s The Voice wins the night

Last night’s broadcast of Treasurer Scott Morrison’s budget speech pulled in 695,000 metro viewers at 7:30pm on the ABC, boosting the station’s audience share to 11.4%, with Nine winning the night with a share of 21.8% thanks to The Voice.

The Voice shed 134,000 viewers on its third outing, posting a metro audience of 1.275m to be the most-watched program of the evening. On Monday it was watched by 1.409m and on launch it attracted 1.4m.
Meanwhile, Masterchef remained steady on its third evening, posting a metro audience of 947,000, slightly down on Monday evening’s audience of 949,000. It premiered on Sunday with a metro audience of 1.012m.
Masterchef was the most-watched show amongst 16-39 year old viewers while The Voice was the popular choice amongst 18-49 and 25-54 year olds.
Seven’s House Rules drew 702,000 metro viewers at 7.30pm while Seven Year Switch, airing at 8:40pm, pulled in 702,000, down on last week’s audience of 786,000.
Nine’s Lip Sync Battle, airing at 9:15pm, was watched by 735,000 while Ten’s NCIS, airing at 8:40pm, grabbed 638,000.
Seven News at 6:00pm reached an audience of 1.211m, slipping to 1.070m at 6:30pm while Nine News at 6:00pm drew an audience of 1.102m, sliding to 1.070m from 6:30pm.
