Ubet teaches blokes to earn ‘Browny Points’ to avoid getting benched in footy season

Footy mad punters are being given tips on how to keep in with their wives and girlfriends happy to avoid running out of ‘Brownie Points’ in UBet’s revived ‘#UBetWeCan’ campaign.

A new 90 second social video stars former AFL star Jonathan Brown giving tips to one fan on how he can earn points from his girlfriend by doing romantic things “so nobody misses out on game day”.

The ad starts with a man getting ready to go out before his girlfriend stops him, with Brown saying: “It happens this time every year, you’ve been on the long leash watching every game when suddenly you’re on the bench.”

It then goes on to show Brown helping the man earn the Browny Points by doing things like making an effort with her friends, “lobbing a few choccies in the pie hole” and raking leaves.

It is the second execution in the #UBetWeCan series with Brown fronting a campaign to make the Melbourne Cup a national holiday last November.

Penny Glasson, general manager – brand for Ubet said:  “The Ubet brand is not yet 12 months old, so we see these campaigns as a clever way to connect with punters and put Ubet in the conversation, without shouting over competitors with more offers and promotions.

“People had been talking about making Melbourne Cup a public holiday for years, so we were just harnessing that conversation.

“Similarly, we all know blokes who go to great lengths to earn their ‘leave passes’ during footy season. We’ve just captured that and made it a funny piece of content that Ubet can own.”

The ad is designed to be socially sharable with Brown ending with a series of questions to which the answer is “You bet we can” including: “And can we share the guts out of this so nobody misses out on game day?”
