University of Sydney appoints Mr Mumbles

The University of Sydney has appointed advertising agency Mr Mumbles to create a communications campaign for its obesity, diabetes and cardiovascular diseases centre.

The announcement:

Independent agency Mr Mumbles has won a project to create the strategic brand and communications platform for the University of Sydney’s new Centre for Obesity, Diabetes and Cardiovascular Diseases (CODCD).

The agency won the account in a competitive pitch and is tasked with creating a communications campaign that will launch the Centre to Australia and the world. The University of Sydney was awarded a $95 million grant from the federal government towards the $385 million Centre, with the mission “to improve human health by the prevention and control of obesity, diabetes and cardiovascular diseases”. These are three of the leading causes of death and disability in Australia. Cardiovascular disease alone is responsible for 39% of deaths and 18% of the disability-adjusted life years lost to the Australian community due to ill health, with those living in rural or remote areas worse affected.
