Viewers say ‘no grazie’ to Italian Masterchef
The fluctuating fortunes of MasterChef saw its audience drop on Sunday compared to the same time a week ago.
Ten’s flagship reality show rated 800,000 for the start of its Italian week on Sunday, according to preliminary overnight metro ratings from OzTAM. This was down on last Sunday’s 890,000 and fourth in its timeslot. Last Sunday had seen a 40 per cent jump in Masterchef’s audience.
In the 7.30 battle, Nine’s 60 Minutes was top with 1.557m viewers. Seven’s Border Security was next with 1.079m viewers. ABC1’s Grand Designs was third with 914,000.
Top show for the night was The Block’s 1.653m on Nine.
Again, it’s a shame MasterChef is getting caned – last night was another good ep.
Ten is poison.
The new series of Masterchef is DIRE. For some reason, the producers decided to dumb down the show. WHY?! Masterchef used to be a great competition and it discovered some talented amateur chefs. This year, the contestants are weak home cooks at best. The ratings reflect that.
