Viewers tune into morning TV for updates on Sydney siege outcome

The early-morning end to the Sydney siege saw viewers turn to breakfast TV shows for the latest information with Seven’s Sunrise from 7am to 9am watched by 634,000 metro viewers compared to 392,000 viewers on the same day last week.

Nine’s morning show Today also had an increased audience of 502,000 metro viewers, up from its audience of 254,000 last Tuesday morning.

Sunrise Live from 5am to 6am was watched by 150,000, while Sunrise early from 6am to 7am was watched by 407,000 viewers, compared to 202,000 last week, and Today Early had an audience of 385,000 compared to last week’s audience of 204,000. Sunrise extended its usual show past 9am, with the extended broadcast from 9am until midday watched by 326,000.
