The Voice beaten by My Kitchen Rules for the second night in a row

Nine’s live entertainment show The Voice has been beaten by Seven’s reality cooking show My Kitchen Rules, for the second night in a row.

The Voice, airing at 7.30pm, posted its lowest metro audience of season six so far with 1.077m metro viewers, according to OzTAM’s overnight preliminary metro ratings.

Despite posting its lowest audience of the season the show still managed over one million viewers

Monday’s launch of The Voice saw its lowest ever debut audience of 1.18m metro viewers.

My Kitchen Rules topped the ratings ladder once again for its semi-final with 1.237m metro viewers tuning in to see Tim and Kyle eliminated.

Airing in the competitive 7.30pm timeslot, MKR was the most-watched program in key advertising demographics16-39, 18-49 and 25-54.

Nationally – including both metro and regional affiliate stations where the program is broadcast – My Kitchen Rules managed 1.894m ahead of The Voice’s 1.467m.

Despite the success of My Kitchen Rules, Nine managed to win the night with 23.6%, beating Seven’s overall audience share of 22.7% and Ten’s 8.8%.

Meanwhile ABC managed a 10.7% share while SBS grabbed 4.8%.

After The Voice, Britain’s Got Talent aired on Nine at 9pm, seeing 671,000 metro viewers tune in, beating ABC’s 442,000 for You Can’t Ask That.

Britain’s Got Talent grabbed 898,000 national metro viewers while You Can’t Ask That averaged 610,000.

In the 6pm news battle Seven News averaged 1.049m metro viewers while Nine News pulled 1.035m. At 6.30pm Seven News/Today Tonight scored 1.034m metro viewers, ahead of Nine News’ 993,000.

Ten’s highest rating show was the The Project’s second half hour at 7pm which pulled 579,000 metro viewers and 860,000 nationally, finishing at number 12 on the ratings ladder.

Ten Eyewitness news also made the top 20 at number 18 with 509,000 metro viewers and 711,000 nationally.
