Volvo Polestar Racing launches Supercars Championship season with Grey Sydney ad
Volvo Polestar Racing has launched the 2015 Supercars Championship season with a new campaign unveiling the livery of its car with its major sponsor Wilson Security.
The campaign, created by Grey Sydney, sees team driver Scott McLaughlin driving around a car park acting as a security guard, interrupting a steamy moment in the process.

Grey Sydney creative director Chad Mackenzie said: “It’s not every day you get the chance to launch the livery of a V8 Supercar. We are extremely proud to be part of this campaign and create content that is relevant for our audience. What’s more we produced a film which is going to resonate beyond the V8 fans.”
Well that’s a bit off brand for Volvo. And pointless. And V8 Supercars don’t have normal instrument panels.
Hate to say it but I’d be going back to the drawing board…nothing engaging to see here.
It’s not off brand actually. Volvo is the major sponsor of the V8s Championship car and has been linking the brand to performance via motorsport for the past 18 months. Many European premium car brands do the same – Audi, Mercedes, BMW etc
I thought the ad was to launch the fact that Wilson Security now have Volvo’s as the cars their guys drive around in at night checking buildings and answering security alarms!
