‘We are delighted to have such strong hands in place’: Alt/shift/ unveils two new general managers

Alt/shift/ has announced the additions of Priscilla Jeha and Samantha Razzell (nee Gale) to its team as general managers.

Jeha and Razzell step into their roles as GM of Brisbane and GM of Melbourne, respectively, while existing staff at the indie creative comms agency undertake maternity leave.

For Jeha, the appointment sees her wrap up her role as director of communications and media for the Queensland government – a position she has held for over one year. The communications expert has more than two decades’ worth of experience under her belt, having worked at domestic and international companies throughout her career, including Khemistry, Grey London and Clemenger BBDO.

Jeha’s client roster has seen her work with the Surf Life Saving Foundation, Suncorp, MyQueensland, Rodd & Gunn and more.

As the general manager for alt/shift/’s Brisbane office, she will lead the agency’s team and spearhead operations by leveraging her expertise in delivering integrated campaigns.

Meanwhile, Razzell brings 14 years of in-house and agency experience to the PR agency’s Melbourne office, gathered from working within the social impact and healthcare sectors.

A former senior manager for corporate affairs, access and policy at biopharmaceutical organisation, Apellis Pharmaceuticals, Razzell previously spent approximately three years at Ogilvy PR Australia, serving as its business director.

Similar to her Brisbane counterpart, Razzell’s career has seen her work in Australia and the United Kingdom under Edelman, Weber Shandwick and Ogilvy Health amongst other companies. Her clients have included Kidney Health Australia, Canteen, GlaxoSmithKline, HCF, The Allanah and Madeline Foundation, Alexion and more.

As GM of the Melbourne office, Razzell will closely work with alt/shift/’s managing director and co-founder, Sam Vassos, on top of leading the agency’s 30-member team.

“Both Cil and Sam bring extensive leadership experience, developing high-performing cross-functional teams,” said Elly Hewitt, national chief executive officer and co-founder of alt/shift/.

“With our expanding offering and commitment to the team and our clients, we are delighted to have such strong hands in place. Each of them bring complementary experience to our agency that will look to enhance our offering and deliver the best results for our clients.”

The announcement of Razzell and Jeha’s fresh gigs coincides with the news that Brisbane-based senior account manager, Alison Prowse, has been promoted to account director close to two years after joining the comms organisation.

Meanwhile, Taylor O’Neill has been hired for an account manager role in alt/shift/’s Sydney office; Lucy Lincoln joins as an account executive in Sydney after working as an account coordinator at integrated comms and PR agency Herd MSL; and Shanya Sylvester takes on an account coordinator position at the agency’s Melbourne office.

“We are thrilled to welcome our new team members to the agency. Their expertise and fresh perspectives will not only help us navigate the transitions but also enhance our ability to deliver outstanding results for our clients,” Hewitt added.

2024 has been a good year for alt/shift/, with the agency being named PR Agency of the Year – Large at the Mumbrella CommsCon Awards in March. In May, the company came out on top of a pitch process that rewarded it with the Australian PR account for dating app, Tinder, which had originally been picked up by Thrive PR in 2021.

The agency was also named PR Agency of the Year at the Mumbrella Awards this year.

In mid-September, alt/shift/ was named the retained agency of record for Camplify.
