‘We used to have a 3:30am start’: Fear & Greed on finding balance in a ‘shambolic’ schedule

Producing a podcast like Fear & Greed is not for the faint of heart.

The popular business title – co-founded by media stalwarts Sean Aylmer (ex-Fairfax editorial director), Michael Thompson (ex-head of content at Macquarie Media) and Adam Lang (ex-CEO of Macquarie Media) – has a goal of making business news more accessible to the general public, and is well on its way of achieving it.

However, despite their combined media expertise, Aylmer told this week’s Mumbrellacast that a typical production day still looks pretty “shambolic” for Fear & Greed. The intense level of output (usually two to three episodes daily, including a standalone interview) means the team was getting up at 3:30 in the morning at one stage.
