Weaving re-enters The Matrix for GE
Dr Mumbo was more than happy to spot everybody’s favourite computer virus promoting healthcare equipment for General Electric.
Aussie actor Hugo Weaving donned the black suit and sunnies of Agent Smith for the US ad.
“Smith” promotes medical software that, like him, is able to be in multiple places at once. But this software is an “agent of good.”
David Gordon Green, of Pineapple Express, was in the director’s chair for this ad, which is one in a series that features famous robots and software like Star Trek’s Data and Knight Rider’s KITT.
Awesome.
Yeah – because getting put into the Matrix really worked out well for those guys in the film, didn’t it? It’s a bit like a health care ad featuring Nurse Ratched.
Does anyone find that Matrix ad a bit terrifying?? New World Order anyone? 😉
Two good adds (MLA and GE) in one day. I still have faith in our industry.
Hugo, you crack me up – love it.
