Website launches social media campaign to bring back the great Aussie road trip
Sydney-Melbourne Touring, the road trip website, has launched a social media campaign which will see teams pitted against each other – Tweeting, Flickring and blogging their way through the eastern states of Australia.
The campaign, created by Klick Communications, will see six teams led by journalists and active social media users hit the road from April 30 – May 3 to explore the Sydney-Melbourne Touring routes in what it is calling a four-day “Road Twip”.
Each team will be given a list of activities they will need to complete on their journey through Sydney, Melbourne and Canberra.
They will also compete against each other to capture: the most outstanding wildlife photograph; most outstanding sunset/sunrise photograph; most professional travel video; most entertaining video; best experience description; and funniest experience description.
I’m going to say they stole my idea 🙂

My company Cartoscope have produced the Coastal Explorer Sydney to Melbourne Touring Route Guide for the past 16 years. I hope the teams are picking up this guide and Cartoscope Maps to help them plan their trip. With the maps and info in the guide they are sure not miss a thing.
