WWE’s billion-dollar deal with Netflix won’t impact Australia – at least, not yet

WWE’s reported $5 billion deal with Netflix is set to take effect in 2025 but currently it will not impact how Aussie fans get their pro wrestling fix.

Earlier this week, Netflix confirmed that it had secured the exclusive rights to WWE’s flagship show, Monday Night Raw, in the US, Canada, UK and Latin America from January 2025. In its own statement, TKO Group – owner of WWE – said that “additional countries and regions” will be “added over time”.

“This deal is transformative,” said Mark Shapiro, TKO president and COO.

“It marries the can’t-miss WWE product with Netflix’s extraordinary global reach and locks in significant and predictable economics for many years. Our partnership fundamentally alters and strengthens the media landscape, dramatically expands the reach of WWE, and brings weekly live appointment viewing to Netflix.”
