Ad of the month shortlist: Tourism Australia; JayGrey; Rabo Direct; NRMA; Minties
The finalists for Mumbrella’s TV ad of the month for May can now be revealed.
The shortlist includes some of the first work from new look agency Jaygrey and DDB’s much discussed ad for Tourism Australia.
The competition will each month seek out the best video ads.
The shortlist has been drawn up based on self nominations, Mumbrella’s own selections and reader submissions. The winners are decided by Mumbrella readers who vote by clicking on the link at the borrom of this item.
The competition is supported by Dubsat.
(TVCs are eligible whichever screen format they first ran on including TV, cinema and the web.)

I love the Babies one. It’s spot on! It love the recharging with the bottle and the servicing area, we are all very familiar with. I think this ad is world class!

i like all the ads but in terms of clear branding, it’s hard to go past tourism australia. cover up the logo at the end of the others and i can’t recall what they’re selling – apart from minties because that line has been going for so many years – but the australia one can only be australia. you mightn’t like it but you don’t really have to.
and no, i don’t work for tourism australia, i don’t even work in marketing or advertising, i’m just saying what i think.
i do like ads with old people though.
NRMA Baby ad is smart – baby as metaphor for cars i also like loyalty ad too – hits a soft spot.
The Australia Tourism ad is terrible and yes I do work for Aust Tourism, not to mention that the team left out the Nations capital Canberra, that would be like doing a piece on France and leaving out Paris or London in England and the funny thing is that the team was located in Canberra. So now Jennifer Hawkins has been at the war memorial filming a part that they are going to edit into a new release. — marketing shambles!!!
Minties is the only ad I’ve seen aired!
NRMA is the pick of the bunch.
My favourite ad of the year is the Foxtel one with the young girl doing her dance routine and dad has to pause the telly.
