Advertisers launch tactical post election ads
A series of brands have sought to capitalise on the conclusion of the federal election with tactical ads mainly focusing on Labor leader Kevin Rudd’s exit rather than Tony Abbott’s arrival.
Among the brands were lastminute.com.au, REA Group, Oral B and Sportsbet.
A full page advertisement for travel website lastminute.com.au said: “Dear Kevin, Can we help you? It’s time to take off.” The campaign also includes a social media component with a hashtag #whereshouldkevgo where users can suggest a location for Kevin Rudd to take his holiday.
Can’t tell if these are in poor taste or just stupid.
All pretty cheap.
I like them – and no doubt Kevin Rudd would love the attention
This is pathetic!!
Ashamed to be called an australian if this is how these company’s carry on!
How these people even run a business is beyond me!! Needless to say if these ads are the real deal i would be promoting people NEVER associate themselves with these brands again.
DISGUSTING
Very clever and oportunistic
