ANZ is looking to close the financial inequality gap between men and women in the workforce, with a TV and social media campaign supporting the launch today.

The bank has released a report, entitled Barriers to achieving financial gender equity, which show women will earn, on average, $15,000 less per year than a man during their working life – or $700,000 over the course of a career.
It started out so well. Oscar Winning Director, Emotive subject, bank with a good track record on the matter…… but WTF was with the kung fu display at the end?
I can’t recall any of the interesting info at the start as all I remember is that oddest of endings. What was she trying to tell me? She wants a fight? She is angry?
It would have been also good to include in the end frame the CTA of using the hashtag #equalfuture as the bank then donates $1 to International Woman’s Development Agency. Why hide this great initiative behind a URL?
So now what?
This is an awesome piece of work and yes I’m bias as it’s from our Melbourne office.
The kung fu display is really different and unexpectedly disruptive, most memorable ads have a WTF moment. The landing page anz.com/equalfuture is where the bigger conversation is happening.
I think she does want a fight, I think she is angry. I think this is why you comment because it’s unsettling.
Take a step back and it’s refreshing for a bank to tackle this issue with some action beyond the film.
@russty
Nawww, you’re just a cute little munchkin aren’t ya.
@russty at the end of the day i’m left thinking about karate not the important take-out.
