Big W takes on live video shopping with Bread Agency partnership

Big W is leaning into one of the fastest-growing digital commerce trends, live shopping, via a new partnership with social media specialists Bread Agency.
In a bold move to enhance its retail experience, Big W is leveraging live video commerce to drive deeper engagement, connect with customers in real-time, and boost conversions.
Consumer behaviours are shifting towards more interactive and immersive shopping experiences, which the retailer hopes to embrace entirely.
It has begun rolling out live shopping events across key categories including baby, health and beauty, and tech and audio. It brings together hosts and product experts, storytelling, and exclusive deals.
Sally Mclean, senior manager of social media at Big W described live shopping as a “game changer” for how the retailer engages with customers.
“By working with Bread Agency, we’re able to create interactive, high-energy shopping experiences that not only drive sales but also build brand affinity and trust in a way traditional e-commerce can’t match,” she said in a media release.
Bread Agency has developed a full-service approach for live shopping activities, including overall strategy, creative concepts, talent selection, tech integration, production, and amplification pre and post-show.
Live shopping has taken off globally, with markets like China, Europe and the US seeing exponential growth. Big W is among the first major Australian retailers to jump on board.
Bread Agency’s co-founder, Amaury Treguer, said this is putting the retailer “ahead of the curve”.
“BIG W understands that today’s consumers crave connection, convenience, and entertainment all in one experience,” he said.
“Our job is to make that happen seamlessly while delivering real business impact.”
Big W’s next live shopping event will be for its iconic Big W Toy Sale next week, hosted by Australian comedian Mel Buttle.
