Cadbury encourages generosity and kindness in latest ad

Cadbury is continuing its ‘There’s a glass and a half in everyone’ brand platform with its latest ad about spreading generosity and kindness.
The TVC sees a young boy try to cheer up a distressed teenage girl on the bus by offering up his chocolate bar.
Mondelez International appointed WPP and Publicis to its global creative roster last year. Locally, the company works with WPP’s Ogilvy for above-the-line work and Channel T as its local specialist agency.
The latest ad was created by VCCP London and directed by Fréderic Planchon. VCCP brought Cadbury’s brand platform to Australia in 2018. Planchon directed Cadbury’s previous TVC, ‘Mum’s Birthday’.
Anthony Ho, brand equity director of chocolate and biscuits ANZ at Mondelēz
International said: “Cadbury Dairy Milk is something generations of Australian families have grown up with. So our new advert is for everyone, reminding them of the big meaning even the smallest acts of kindness can have.”
Darren Bailes, ECD for VCCP, added: “We’ve all been there – on a bus or a train and seen someone sad and upset. Most of the time we look away, minding our own business. But the generous hearted amongst us know better. This film tells that story. We are incredibly proud of this work.”
The ad will appear across TV, video on demand, online and social.

One of the best commercials I have seen. It deserves an award.
Cannot quite hear what the mother says at the end but does not matter.
Beautifully acted and directed.
Understated and moving.
Best advert on TV and the little boy melts my heart. Only advert that I actually watch in its entirety ❤️
This advert is a beautiful example of compassionate and kindness, & we dont see enough of this on telly. These young actors are fabulous! … well done Cadbury
I’ve seen this ad about 20 times on TV and it makes no sense.
I agree with previous comment – this ad makes no sense. Have they done something with the editing due to Covid ?
She says “ Ok just one”
The woman says at the end. “ ok just one”
THE BEST ADVERTISING ON MEDIA IN RECENT TIMES
Touching – simple – creative – most importantly human
GREAT !
Thank you
Mike Mangan
What makes this advert so good and is missed on some shortened versions is that the mum says you can eat only one square of chocolate and the young boy is prepared to give it to the crying young girl. The lad had such a lovely kind face.
Love it.
I love this ad. Its so lovely and inspiring. The little boy is amazing and so expressive I love it. Is this ad filmed in London UK ?
