Chronos Agency marks Australian expansion with chief revenue officer appointment

Marketing company Chronos Agency is entering the Australian market while appointing Nina Jung for its chief revenue officer role.

The announcement:

Chronos Agency, a lifecycle marketing agency helping high-growth direct-to-consumer (DTC) brands scale profits, has today announced its expansion into the Australian market following strong demand from local ecommerce businesses for email, SMS, and other retention marketing services that enable sustainable business growth. As the ecommerce sector is faced with economic uncertainty, inflation, and a cost-of-living crisis, businesses are turning away from solely media buying approaches and towards retention and lifecycle marketing strategies.

Chronos Agency has supported more than 400 businesses globally, 20 per cent of which are Australian businesses. Significant success with early client The Oodie, including increasing its overall email revenue by 87 per cent, became Chronos’ stepping stone into the Australian market and since then in 2020, Chronos’ Australian customer base has grown organically through positive word of mouth and increasing awareness of the benefits of retention and lifecycle marketing.

In the first half of 2024, Chronos experienced 50 per cent growth in new deals created compared to the same period in 2023.

Local chief revenue officer appointed

Chronos Agency has appointed Nina Jung as its chief revenue officer, responsible for overseeing the Australian market and leading the company’s growth in the region. Nina brings over 15 years of experience across the marketing, growth, and startup sectors, and has held senior leadership roles at MadeComfy, Delivery Hero, and HotelsCombined.com.

Nina commented, “Acquisition-focused growth is what’s prevalent, but forward-thinking marketers are focusing on personalisation and retention to grow revenue. With privacy concerns and the shift towards using first-party data, the amalgamation of acquisition and lifecycle marketing is the right way to grow businesses in my view.

“Chronos Agency ticked a lot of boxes for me—not just in what they do, but also in their global presence, expertise, unparalleled service levels proven by many testimonials, and incredibly skilled teams driving the machine. I’m excited to join the team and lead the way in supporting Aussie marketers and entrepreneurs in the ecommerce ecosystem, helping them achieve their growth ambitions both nationally and globally.”

Australian ecommerce sector capitalising on lifecycle marketing

The global company’s local market expansion comes as Australian businesses and DTC brands look for more cost-effective customer retention and conversion strategies.

Chronos’ customer, Australian Furniture Warehouse, grew profits by almost six-fold year-on-year and unlocked new revenue opportunities. By targeting existing customers with campaign emails, Chronos helped Australian Furniture Warehouse generate otherwise untapped sales opportunities that contributed to 11 per cent of their overall business revenue. The business now attributes 15 per cent of its revenue to email marketing, with a single email generating $8,000 in revenue in some instances.

Joshua Chin, co-founder and CEO of Chronos Agency, commented, “By integrating global best practices with deep local market knowledge, we provide Australian companies the tools to not only thrive domestically but also successfully venture into international markets. The opportunity to help Australian businesses go global aligns perfectly with our mission to deliver tailored lifecycle marketing services that drive growth, engagement, and profitability across diverse platforms and regions.”

Chronos Agency has a remote-first approach to hiring talent without borders. With local and global teams collaborating on the same projects, clients benefit from greater service levels and the varied experiences of international teams.

Chronos Agency is one of six Klaviyo Elite Master Partners in APAC.
