Last year alone, we watched augmented reality break out with the rise of Pokémon Go, saw web messaging enter the mainstream as web push became available on Chrome, Safari, and Firefox, and witnessed Facebook bolster OTT marketing by throwing open the doors of its Messenger platform to third-party brands.
