Hungry Jacks hijacks Maccas Monopoly campaign in fast food marketing war
Hungry Jack’s has hijacked the McDonald’s Monopoly campaign by inviting customers to redeem winning vouchers at its own restaurants.
McDonald’s chief competitor has launched what it called “Flame Their Mcopoly”, and promised to hand out free burgers, fries and drinks to diners who present prize-winning Monopoly tickets.
Promotional ads on the Hungry Jack’s website read: “Real flame-grilled taste, like air, is vital to life. No one should be denied it – our friends, our family and all Australians. So redeem your FREE tickets* at Hungry Jack’s instead, because everyone deserves a better flame-grilled burger.”
Bitchy, bitchy, bitchy!
I’m lovin it!
McGreat!
The advertising is better at Hungry Jacks.
Nice stunt for PR but will it actually drive sales? Probably not.
I guess the objective is to capture more McD’s customers – people redeem the winning food pieces and HJ would be hoping that the customer orders other items in addition to the winning item being given for free.
I’m sure the boffins at HJ with their marketing peeps would have done a cost benefit analysis on return on investment and foot traffic vs giveaway items ..etc
I must admit, when I saw this promotion in a HJ store window, I had a smile on my face thinking “good on ’em”
Hungry jacks has always been better, food and value ! Bring maccas down 😉
