I’m a Celebrity draws 1.324m for 2016 season debut but is beaten by the men’s Australian Open final

Ten’s I’m a Celebrity last night drew 1.324m metropolitan viewers for the first episode of the 2016 season which saw the 12 celebrities, including cricketer Shane Warne, announced.

It was a result that was up on its 2015 debut, which drew 1.2m; however, Seven’s coverage of the men’s final of the Australian Open still drew the biggest audience of the night.

According to OzTAM preliminary ratings, 1.619m viewers tuned in to watch Novak Djokovic beat Andy Murray in straight sets to win his sixth Australian Open title.
