Mediacom Melbourne brings former Mitchell’s boss Allen Scash out of retirement

Mediacom Melbourne has hired former Mitchell and Partners’ managing director Allen Scash to be its new non-executive chairman.
The announcement will see the well-respected Scash come out of retirement to take up the new position at the media agency.
The move comes at a time when Mediacom Melbourne is fighting to retain a number of key accounts, including the AFL and Energy Australia, with Scash saying, in a statement: “I had no intentions of coming back to the industry, having been quite happy playing golf and fishing, but there’s a great team there at MediaCom and I feel like I have a lot to add”.
Mediacom senior management are clearly concerned that they have no senior leaders in Melbourne – ouch!
Lose 3 big clients, and their solution is to spend money to hire another senior executive.
