Lamb brings people together in new MLA campaign by The Monkeys
Meat and Livestock Australia has launched a new campaign promoting Australia’s diversity and the role that lamb plays in bringing families and friends together. The Spring Lamb campaign created by The Monkeys features 150 people from a variety of backgrounds – including a Hare Krishna vegetarian – coming together over a lamb barbecue.
Lamb ads have mocked vegetarians in the past but the new campaign challenges Australians to embrace diversity. The ad opens with TV presenter Luke Jacobz announcing: “I’m here to address concerns that too many perky white males are contributing to a lack of diversity on our our screens”.
Jacobz walks past a tree and morphs into Indian/Australian actor Arka Das, who continues: “And we couldn’t agree more…”
I like it a lot. Great ad.
I hated it a lot. I can’t understand the disconnect. Lambs are beautiful animals and are killed to create a product we don’t need. Please have compassion.
I agree with you. They are killed that is bad enough, but the way they live and the way they die, in horrific pain, why are people so unfeeling?
what a great ad, well done to all who participated
If it was an ad encouraging violence towards women, would you still think it fantastic? If it was an ad supporting violence towards gay or trans people, would you still celebrate it? But an ad encouraging people to revel in the torture, throat-slitting and killing of a non-human baby is somehow ok and will possibly be up for winning an award (if my time working at a media and advertising mag several years ago is anything to go by). I don’t know who originally said it, but it’s worth remembering that no one is free while others are oppressed. Fighting for your own freedom, rights and liberation at the expense of or while supporting or celebrating the oppression of others helps no one. You simply become what you’re fighting against. We can and must do better.
Disgracefully. What’s happened to this country? This is a blatant attempt to appease online SJW’s while promoting globalism (moreso than lamb). Did George Soros fund this ad?
I go about my business day by day , not causing conflict and respecting all. But i feel that i cant just ignore whats happening with our society. Political corectness, regulation of everthing we do, pandering to the dictate of minority groups and passing over the thoughts and concerns of our elders is setting us up for some huge issues. Wisdom is rarely achieved by any of us and those who i think have any claim to wisdom have achieved it through a long life expierance including listening to the lesons learnt by past generations. Mumbrella man , blind with a massive ego and full of self importance , you are so from wise despite your age, i pitty you and will now cross lamb of our weekly family shopping list and also voice my opinion to the meat and livestock board. You have just isolated and lost a huge portion of you customer – consumer base
