The return of The Voice has powered Channel Nine to its first win of the official ratings period this year, after losing ten consecutive weeks to rivals Channel Seven.

The first three blind auditions of the singing contest, which kicked off last Sunday, were three of the top four most watched shows of the week in the 11th of 40 official ratings weeks this year, with 1.4m viewers on Monday the best performance. Nine News Sunday was third on the list.
The return of Msterchef also gave Channel Ten a much needed shot in the arm, lifting its audience share for the week to 15% after managing 10.5% last week.
Wednesday’s show, the first not up against The Voice, was the most watched with 1.058m metro viewers, according to OzTam figures.
