Prophet appoints ex-Meta head as VP of marketing science and COO

Commercial mix modelling (CMM) platform Prophet has nabbed a former Meta head as its new COO and VP of marketing science.

Hamish Mogan joins as Prophet’s first COO since officially launching its CMM platform in March.

Mogan joins after five years with Meta, where he headed up marketing science for the retail and ecommerce sectors across ANZ. He has also head leading data science and analytics roles at Sportsbet, EY and Les Mills.

In order to give the Australian and global markets the truest form of commercial-mix-modelling, and therefore driving real decision-intelligence, bringing on exceptional customer understanding is key to further aligning the Prophet engine back to the customer.

Mogan will bring his understanding of customers to the world of marketing science, translating complex processes into digestible language and communicating customer needs to analysts to drive optimal measurement techniques.

“I did a significant amount of due diligence on Prophet prior to joining. I needed to ensure that this was much more than just another MMM platform. It needed to be a true decision-engine – and it is,” he said of his appointment.

“One reason I was really drawn to Prophet is because the people I’ve met along the way are very impressive. I’ve spent a lot of time with Jordan [Taylor-Bartels] and Sean [Taylor], and understanding their attitude and what they’re trying to achieve here – and the way that they’re going to go about it – is really compelling.”

The Melbourne-based business is targeting the Australian market first, as sweeping changes in the landscape begin to transform key marketing functions.
