Spinach unveils leadership changes as founders step away

Spinach has promoted three employees into leadership position, as the agency’s founders are stepping away from the day-to-day business.

Nicole Miranda has been promoted to the managing director role after serving as Spinach’s client services director for over three years.

When asked about her new chapter, Miranda said it was an opportunity to support the agency’s clients, similarly to what the company did for her when she worked with them while acting as Liquorland’s head of marketing.

“Stepping up to managing director is an opportunity to focus our team on making Spinach as invaluable to our clients as the agency was to me when I was on the other side of the fence,” Miranda said.

“Walking the ‘integration’ walk – seamlessly combining our skills in media, creative, data and more – is key to achieving this. While integration isn’t a new concept, delivering on the promise requires an ongoing commitment. I’m more than up for the challenge.”

The second promotion covers Ben Willee. Boasting more than a decade’s worth of experience at the advertising agency, Willee is taking on the executive director of media and data position. Meanwhile, Dom Megna is being tasked with managing Spinach’s day-to-day creative operations as its new executive creative director.

News of the three promotions comes alongside the announcement that Spinach founders Frank Morabito and Craig Flanders are moving on “from day-to-day operations”.

Both commented on Miranda, Willee and Megna’s new roles within the 25-year-old agency, expressing that the business is set for a bright future with them at the helm.

“One of the reasons why Spinach is still going strong 25 years later is that we have always been focused on staying ahead of the curve and looking forward,” said Morabito.

“We are now thinking about the next 25 years of the business and where it goes from here. That’s where Nicole, Ben and Dom come in.”

“We’re not getting any younger so it’s time for a generational change. Between them, Nicole, Ben and Dom have got international agency, major client-side brand and start-up experience. In terms of business partners, we couldn’t ask for a better group of collective skills, passions and attitude to move Spinach forward,” said Flanders.
