Suncorp ends partnership with WPP as it announces new lead creative agency
Suncorp has announced a new lead creative agency for the company.
On Thursday, the insurer announced that, in an effort to evolve its marketing operating model and consolidated agency requirement, Publicis Groupe-owned Leo Burnett will lead its creative account from the start of 2025.
The news also means that Suncorp will end its 20-plus year partnership with WPP, and with Ogilvy Melbourne who had been supporting the business across AAMI, GIO, Vero and Hogarth.
“We are extremely proud of our long-standing partnership with Ogilvy Melbourne and the broader WPP team,” Suncorp’s executive general manager, brand and customer experience, Mim Haysom, said.
“Together we have developed iconic cultural moments and many award-winning customer campaigns, and I want to thank all those that have made our success possible over the years.
“Following this change our objective remains to deliver industry-leading brand and creative solutions, across our diverse portfolio, to best serve our customers. We are excited and look forward to working with the Publicis Groupe to deliver on this goal.”

Publicis Groupe ANZ CEO, Michael Rebelo, added: “The marketing transformation agenda and creative ambition of Mim and the Suncorp team is truly inspiring to be a part of. To be expanding our partnership with the rest of their iconic brands is a huge testament to the Leo Burnett team.
“We look forward to unleashing our production platform PXP and a range of our Publicis Groupe capabilities to support this next phase of their growth.”
Leo Burnett Australia CEO, Clare Pickens, said the company is honoured by the new partnership.
“Over the past seven years, we have built a strong, collaborative relationship based on a deep understanding of the Suncorp business and a shared commitment to delivering impactful work,” she said.
“The expansion of our remit marks an exciting new chapter, as we focus on continuing to elevate their brands and driving meaningful business growth together.”
The news comes as Rebelo was announced as the new chair on the Board of Advertising Council Australia, succeeding global CEO of Droga 5, Mark Green, on Thursday.
