I’m a Celebrity finale pulls in 1.1m to see Brendan Fevola crowned king of the jungle

Brendan FevolaThe finale of Ten’s I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here! saw 1.1m metro viewers tune in for the winner’s announcement to see AFL player Brendan Fevola crowned king of the jungle.

With the show overrunning by 11 minutes, OzTAM’s confirmed numbers saw the audience boosted for the reality TV show from 858,000 to 1.1m for the winner announcement and an average of 727,000 viewers tuning in for the full finale episode, which kicked off at 6:30pm, and saw Fevola defeat rugby league player Paul ‘The Chief’ Harragon and former Bachelor contestant Laurina Fleure.

The AFL player won $100,000 for his chosen charity The Shane Warne Foundation, which will be wound up on Friday. During the show Fevola announced that half of his winnings would go to Harragon’s charity, The Mark Hughes Foundation.

The show was down on the launch of the series which saw 1.324m metro viewers tune in. It was also down on the finale of season one which saw 1.144m metro viewers tune in to see former English-cricket player Andrew ‘Freddie’ Flintoff win.
