The hotel press release translator
It’s been a while since Dr Mumbo translated a press release. But today’s the day to get back on the horse, thanks to the good folk of Perth’s Pan Pacific Hotel.
20 August 2015, Perth – Pan Pacific Perth is excited to unveil their sleek new Premier Rooms following the completion of a multi-million dollar guest room refresh which saw 124 rooms and eight suites completely remodeled.
Translation: There’s been a refurb.
Each redesigned room is fitted with guest-centric and functional enhancements, including a thoughtfully appointed workspace to cater to the needs of the hotel’s corporate travellers.
Good heavens – who writes this stuff? (Rhetorical question).
Looks like someone mixed up the corporate brochure copy with the media release copy.
Think there is a whole new business opportunity here to translate this bulls**t
“…true quality in their hotel experiences,” commented Susan Standring, Principle of HASSELL.”
Perhaps Ms Standring is the PrinciPAL of Hassell.
‘principle’ as in Rule ends in ‘LE’ same as ‘Rule’.
‘principal’ as in “the Boss” or main thing or original tranche of money (not interest) or Ms Standling, is your PAL and ends in ‘AL’ – just like PAL.
“It’s the principle of the thing, said the Principal.”
“There, there. They’re just looking after their own interest”
PLEASE make this a weekly delight to read and giggle over! 🙂
