The Monkeys’ creative director takes up ECD role at Hello Social

The leadership team at indie agency, Hello Social, has grown with The Monkeys’ Dan Fryer joining as executive creative director (ECD).
As Hello’s ECD, Fryer will helm the agency’s creative vision, requiring him to work across several fields including PR, production, media, editorial, talent and studio. His appointment is expected to exemplify the agency’s values of ‘Sh!t Worth Sharing’ and ‘Creative Intelligence’.
Prior to his appointment, Fryer spent five years at advertising agency, The Monkeys, where he worked as creative director.
The seasoned creative’s career also saw him complete stints at several long-running creative organisations, such as Leo Burnett, Havas, AJF Partnership, and more.
His work in bolstering brand narratives on non-traditional and traditional platforms has also seen Fryer win at the Cannes Lions Titanium Grand Prix, Effies, D&AD Black Pencil, amongst other accolades.

“With its diverse mix of talent and specialities, not to mention its impressive list of clients looking for different shaped ideas, Hello is an exciting place to be. I look forward to getting stuck in and growing the creative team (wink wink),” Fryer said.
Hello’s managing partner, Sam Kelly, expressed his enthusiasm at having Fryer join the team.
“With an ambition to compete with the very best creatively, it’s undoubtedly the right move for us,” Kelly said.
“The fact that one of Australia’s most decorated creatives believes in what we are building here is a huge vote of confidence.
“In addition to exceptional craft, it was important we found a creative leader with shared values: Hustle and Heart, For the Greater Good of the Team and Chase the GOAT. Dan’s not only a brilliant mind, he’s a brilliant partner.”
And Fryer has already hit the ground running at his new place of work. His first assignments – work for Lynx and Uber – are expected to be launch sometime this week.
