Flinders University has announced that creative comms agency, kwpx, has been chosen as its creative agency.
The appointment tasks kwpx with producing work that turbocharges the South Australian university’s research and education plans, while shifting students’ perceptions of higher education in the southern state.
The agency won the pitch process as a result of its enthusiasm for, and in-depth understanding of, South Australian higher education and Flinders University’s overall mission.
“We’re proud to have been chosen as Flinders University’s creative partner at such a pivotal time in the university’s history,” shared Sam Davies, kwpx’s managing director.
“Flinders University embodies the spirit of a challenger brand, and in all our conversations to date they’ve shown us they are serious about the work and the role creativity will play in growing their brand.”

Sam Talbot, head of advertising at kwpx, also commented on the account win. To Talbot, the university is expected to be a game-changing partner for kwpx.
“I think it’s fair to say Flinders University will instantly become a cornerstone partner for kwpx,” Talbot said.
“But the real work starts now, and we share the ambition to create breakthrough work that shifts how students view the higher education sector and Flinders University.”
According to Bev Bury, chief marketing officer at Flinders University, kwpx’s appointment unlocks new ways of marketing higher education – a benefit that the university is excited to explore.
“We’re incredibly excited about this new chapter and supercharging our brand,” said Bury.
“We think there is a huge opportunity to bring fresh and innovative thinking to how we market higher education and can’t wait to explore this with kwpx as our creative partners.”
The appointment arrives 10 days after it was announced that kwpx’s media division was acquired by independent media agency, Atomic 212, effective late November, 2024. The move allowed Atomic to branch out into South and Western Australia.
“This acquisition is an important moment for us, giving us a strong entry into the South Australian market and a new resource for our clients around the country,” Rory Heffernan, Atomic’s chief executive officer, had commented at the time.
