The Block and MKR build as Ten’s audience falls for Puberty Blues
Ratings lifted for Seven and Nine’s reality shows My Kitchen Rules (MKR) and The Block last night as Channel Ten’s dropped on last week for The Biggest Loser and Puberty Blues, preliminary overnight metro ratings from OzTam show.
Home renovation show The Block posted its highest Wednesday night audience of the series with 1.293m metro viewers, an increase of 60,000 viewers on last week, and was the second most popular show in all people and in people 25-54.
However, Seven’s MKR was still some way ahead with a total 1.61m as it marked a 50,000 increase on last week, holding its place as top program of the night and top in people 25-54.
The Biggest Loser’s audience fell to 296,000 from 7.30pm to 8.30pm, less than half of the audience ABC1 had for Shaun Micallef’s Mad as Hell with 620,000 at 8pm, but up from the 268,000 for Tuesday night.
sorry, but could this be more overtly biased ‘news’ item??? I note you include a paid banner of THE BLOCK alongside…PAID.
Jesus, make a push at least an appearance of being objective, can’t you???
Hi Lisa,
Thanks for the comment.
This is a news item based, as they are every morning, on the ratings which come in. The Block logo is used here as an illustration, as My Kitchen Rules, Puberty Blues, Elementary and dozens of others are and have been in these stories every day.
Unlike many of our competitors Mumbrella doesn’t do paid advertorial, or show any special treatment to advertisers.
Thanks for reading,
Alex, editor, Mumbrella
Puberty Blues is the top show on Ten right now.
Have to agree with Alex there to a point Lisa… I read these posts every day and this one seems not much different in tone to all the others… mind you they can push the Block all they like… I’m so over them! and the complete formula – even the kids can go 3.2.1. commercial break…
Hey Alex
have you reported on the Feb audience figures/ratings for Australian news sites yet? The Neilson numbers usually come out around 18/19 of each month, but I haven’t seen anything on mumbrella on the Feb numbers yet?
