The Block pulls 1.377m while The Voice Kids continues to disappoint
Nine’s new reality renovation program The Block Glasshouse built on its debut last week (1.374m) drawing a metro audience of 1.377m, despite not simulcasting the show across its multi-channels this time around.
The strong performance saw The Block take out the 6.30pm slot as the most watched show of Sunday night, however Nine’s metropolitan audience then shed more that half a million viewers for The Voice Kids, which had just 816,000, again down on last week where it had 933,000 and less than half of its June debut where it had 1.7m.
Over on Seven The X Factor won the 7.30pm slot with a 1.035m audience, while over on Ten a two hour special celebrating the 50th anniversary of Network Ten drew 666,000 for the two-hour show reliving the best of its programming.
Meanwhile in the news stakes there was a dead heat with the two 6pm news bulletins on both Seven and Nine drawing a metro audience of 1.269m, however the late screening of 60 Minutes on Nine saw it drop to 737,000 at 9.15pm, whilst rival Seven’s Sunday Night on at 8.15pm enjoyed an audience of 1.099m.
Kid’s Voice, X-Factor etc. Nasty TV shows that imply nice people with nice voices (plenty in your local choir) will somehow become ‘superstars’. Exploitation at it’s worst.
How bad was the fake laugh track on 50 Years Young?
It was so noticeable as the show was not funny.
Where did they get it from? A 1971 Brady Bunch episode?
A bit picky Nick
Nick, that’s how TV was 40 years ago. Go find something else to whinge about,
