Car Advice founders and presenter Paul Maric exit the business
After launching the business in 2006, Car Advice founders Alborz Fallah and Anthony Crawford have announced they will be exiting the business. Presenter and automotive expert Paul Maric will also be leaving.
Nine acquired a majority stake in Car Advice in September 2016 and acquired the remaining shares in 2018. Recently the media company announced it would be merging Car Advice and Drive, resulting in 10 redundancies, shortly before CEO Andrew Beecher said he would be stepping down.

Paul Maric says he, Alborz Fallah and Anthony Crawford are leaving because Car Advice is no longer about ‘great content and a love of cars’
Like the titanic heading for the iceberg. These three are smart enough to jump
Very interesting. I feel CarAdvice is on a downwards spiral at the moment. I have noticed the content is becoming increasingly homogonised, and the ‘community’ feel is diminishing.
I have been a massive fan of the site since 2013, but I’m tuning in less and less. The podcast is the only thing I look forward to.
Because the “motoring” media relies so much on advertising revenue it never really “criticises” or cans any products from the car manufacturers.
That is why I watch John Cardogan on You-tube (AutoExpert.com.au) he says it like it is.
That place is doomed. The CEO can’t even spell the founded’s name properly.
It feels like it has been going downhill for a while now – this was always bound to happen. Looking forward to seeing where these three pop up – enjoyed listening to Paul on the radio.
*Edit: Looks like the spelling mistake of Alborz’s name was fixed.
Hi Benjamin E,
Alborz’s name was spelt incorrectly in the quote and unfortunately I didn’t pick up on it when writing the story. We were contacted by the spokesperson to update the spelling over the weekend, which has been done.
Thanks,
